Well of course I watched 'The Shot' last night and while certainly formulaic of the reality show competition genre I like 'A Visual Society' will probably tune in from week to week and watch this thing to the bitter end.
Russell James wasn't so bad as show hosts go, at least he managed to keep his shirt on unlike during the shows opening montage where we got to see him display his photographic assets. I am sure he will get a little smoother as the series continues. After all he has Nigel Barker the photographer judge on 'Americas Next Top Model' to guide him. I noticed on the credits that Barker is an executive producer on 'The Shot' nice one Nige thats a smart way to earn a few extra $.
So completely cheesy and unrealistic ? but the infighting has already started amongst the competitors, where do they find these people ? How about Ivan and Dean, the producers must have wet themselves big when these two winning personalities came knocking on the casting door. My wifes got her money on Maria winning the whole thing already.
Stay tuned !

Of course it will set a bar for all of us to reach with some of the viewers. I can't believe how many model wannabe's I meet who think that the way it is done is just like that other show "top model" I think it is. Oh well, I guess I can let my inner bitch out now and feel good about it!
Personally I don't have time to watch, but when "America's Next Top Brain Surgeon" comes on... I'll be right there!
I just checked out the site and my favorite part is that "The Shot" is sponsored by Vaseline. What else can one say. The rest of "the shot" gives me the creeps.
Thanks for keeping up with this stuff. Very entertaining.
Unfortunately, I have to go now, I've just lost my carbon foot print and I can't go on without it. Where did I leave that thing, I think I'll retrace my steps, dammit !!

Guilty as charged, on the ChaseJarvis link. I've been enjoying this blog for a while now. Bit more grounded than many of the others out there. Good stuff.
On 'the shot' I don't have TV but watched the 'show highlights' on the vh1.com website this morning. Seems like the typically dysfunctional reality TV cast list. All the usual suspects are present.
I was more disturbed by the fact that the first segment seemed to be getting referred to as the 'teach' by the presenter. Actually, quite a lot of it was disturbing. No doubt I won't be able to look away over the coming weeks.
I'm waiting on the Serb - Croat war being re-fought too, when Ivan grows a pair and stands up to Dean. Must be on the cards, surely.
gordon
thanks man - chase and I have been blog mates for a while but thanks for reminding the masses that I am here
yeah wondering when the Shot will replay the serb - croat war, maybe it will be in one of the challenges _ war photographer, models in fatigues
this train wreck will only get more disturbing and addictive as it goes on
cheers
OK, I'll succumb and watch the premier... its a free download via iTunes:
