Person of the Year

Photo © Platon

Congrats to the 'top man' himself Platon for landing the prestigious Time Person of the Year cover. Looks like Platon had no problems sneaking his infamous portrait lens past Russian authorities as this years winner, if in fact the cover star is deemed to be such a thing, Vladimir Putin gets the special treatment.

Photo © Dan Winters.

Not that there are winners and losers but the runners up were Al Gore and Dan Winters, sorry lads but there ya go.

I actually prefer the Winters photo. Platon's makes me feel like I am giving Putin a lapdance. And I am a man!

Speaking of Dan Winters, the picture of you and J.M. Colberg over at his blog, is that you on the right? One of you looks , IMHO, just like Dan. I've been trying all day trying to find a photo of him to prove my point but to no avail. Well, does anyone agree with me?

Platon really did a fantastic job. And I agre Putin is the man of the year. Although not necessary good man of the year, but still better then his counterpart from USA.

I love Dan Winters' photography, and I'm a big fan.
It was a nice surprise to see that one of the photos that he did for Time magazine (a portrait of Al Gore) was very similar in style to a portrait that I took about 14 years ago (Oh Lord..time flies...)of Burt Reynolds (for Time Inc as well)...
I guess, Men In Black is still in vogue.
