#1Day1Game Photo All-Star Landon ‘gone to the dogs’ Nordeman used all his charm and guile to go all tiger whisperer on us to capture one of his favorite images of official LSU mascot Mike. Word is he used the same calming techniques to tame and photograph the infamous purple faceless fan too. Landon fired 4380 frames for his second one day one game outing…

#1Day1Game Photo All-Star Darren Carroll was tasked with game action duty but suffered terribly from wandering lens syndrome. Hence he has two favorite images from on and off the field. Darren shot 2221 frames and submitted 192 as his final edit…

Just in time for all the Thanksgiving excesses #1Day1Game Photo All-Star Brian Finke gets us in the mood and serves up four of his favorite bacchanalian tailgating vignettes. Brian turned in 197 tasty frames as his final edit…

Saturday had to be one of my all time favorite assignments. With a team of photo talent that included Nathaniel Welch, John Huet, John Loomis, Dominic DiSaia, Emilio Collavino, Jamie Squire, Rob Tringali, Ross Dettman, Pouya Dianat, Brian Finke, Darren Carroll and Landon Nordeman, yours truly was dispatched by ESPN the Magazine to Baton Rouge to cover the LSU V Alabama football game.
The magazine is devoting its entire next issue to the game, so our crew consisted of 43 people including the photographers, writers, editors etc etc. To say this was an undertaking of epic proportions would be an understatement. On top of snapping away for the printed matter we were are all encouraged to post pics of proceedings as we went about our business on the inter webs under the hash tag #1Day1Game and the magazine also posted a communal web gallery updated throughout the day here.
I am truly humbled to have shared the day with so many great photographers and to have had the chance to work with the amazing ESPN Mag crew. Massive thanks to everyone involved…
