Believe it or not for the longest longest time I hated having my photograph taken and shied away from any gazing lens. Maybe that’s the main reason I ended up on the other side of the camera. Nowadays it doesn’t phase me at all; my thought being that if I am going to subject people to my own camera I should only be too ready, willing and able if anyone be remotely interested in shooting me. You usually get one expression and the same clothing option mind you.
So when ace director, writer, lensman and my first photo boss Conor Horgan was on hiatus in NYC last year working on a screenplay we did the mandatory catch up over coffee followed by a quick portrait session. Not only was Conor hitting the keyboard he was also out and about photographing the city as well as some of its Irish emigrants. His endeavors have resulted in a book ’New York City’ available here.
